GRETSCH 70'S STOP SIGN THREE PIECE
This Gretsch kit is from the 70s with its original black gloss finish.
The sizes are 24x14 Bass, 16x16 Tom and 13x9 Ride Tom. The covering on the bass and Floor are factory wrapped (not a re-wrap).
The ride Tom is a factory nitron finish.
All original stop sign badges and orange paper tags are present.
The Toms are in very good condition complete with dampers and diecast hoops. The bottom floor hoop has some slight chrome separation.
The bass has a few minor blemishes but nothing major. The Billy Pratt damper has been removed. It is fitted with disappearing spurs. One of the tension bolts on the spur bracket is non-Gretsch. The hoops are original with new black gloss inlay.
The bass batter head is a Remo Weather King (new old stock)
The Tom bracket is made by Premier and has a very small split but this does not prevent the tom holder from being secured (not supplied).
There are four extra holes where a Ludwig diamond bracket had been fitted but this is not visible because its covered by the premier bracket. Gretsch bass drums were shipped to the UK in the 70s without any hardware fitted so the shells could be stacked inside each other to save on shipping costs. Premier supplied the tom brackets and holders when they arrived in the UK.
This kit has plenty of volume and is a player's kit rather than a collectable.
